Community Service
Center for Leadership and Civic Engagement
The Center for Leadership & Civic Engagement serves as the volunteer center for The University of South Florida community. The center offers resources on volunteerism, service-learning and opportunities for students and student organizations to develop leadership skills and get involved in service in the Tampa Bay area. Opportunities exist to participate in short-term projects, volunteer long-term or participate in service trips.
For more information about the center, contact the center at (813) 974-5053 or vservices@admin.usf.edu.
USF Health Service Corps
This USF Health-wide, interdisciplinary student group is designed to facilitate a new process through which USF Health students in Medicine, Nursing, Public Health and Physical Therapy can participate in service activities together. The USF Health Service Corps is sponsored by the USF Area Health Education Center and has its own Coordinator who assists the USF Health students in planning, implementing and evaluating service activities. The purpose of the USF Health Service Corps is to facilitate opportunities for students in all areas of the USF Health to work together on specific time-limited service events, as well as new ongoing service learning projects throughout the year.
For more information about the Health Sciences Center Service Corps, contact Ellen Kent, MPH, Faculty Coordinator for USF Health Service Corps, at ekent@health.usf.edu.
